Sarah Lee Green, 61, formerly of New Lexington, passed away Wednesday, March 22nd, at Echoing Hills in Warsaw, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth Joe and Pauline (Smeltzer) Richards.
Sarah attended St. Rose Elementary and New Lexington High School. She obtained her RN at Hocking Technical College in 1982, after which she worked for several nursing homes and at the Athens Mental Health Center for 15 years. In 2005, Sarah moved to Echoing Hills, where she regularly participated in their Dayhab program, attended church, and enjoyed other outings.
She is survived by her children; Sarah Anne (Brenddyn LeSean) Smedley, Middletown and Timothy Allen Baden, Columbus; grandson Ezekiel Adam Smedley, Middletown; and by her brother Scott Kenneth Richards, New Lexington and sister Mary Elizabeth (Richards) Berkani, Worthington.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Keith Green and by her siblings Richard Douglas Richards, Peter John Richards and Paula Jo Richards.
Calling hours will be held at the Chute-Wiley Funeral Home, 118 S. Jackson St., New Lexington, on Monday, March 27 from 10:30 am until 11:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 pm at St. Rose Catholic Church with Father Todd Lehigh as celebrant.. Interment will follow in New Lexington Cemetery, after which a luncheon will be held at St. Rose Parish Center.
