Roy Vincent Hammond

Roy Hammond Obituary

Passed away at Fairfield Medical Center after a brief illness.

Roy was born in New Lexington, the son of the late Wilbur & Ethel Snider Hammond. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, World War II Army & Marine Veteran, having served in the Amphibious Forces, member of New Lexington American Legion Post 188, New Lexington Knights of Columbus MacGahan Council, Retired employee of Peabody Coal Company and Boich Mining of Dresden. Roy was an avid cook and baker and loved sharing all his goodies with his family and friends.

He is survived by his son, Troy Joseph (Patti Carr) Hammond of Columbus, sisters, Beatrice Southwick of New Lexington, Evelyn (John) Kerber,
brother, Donald Hammond all of Columbus. Many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Pat (Clark) Hammond (December 13, 2006). Parents, brothers, Ernest and Richard Hammond.

Calling hours will be held from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Rosary at 7:45 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at St. Rose Catholic Church, 309 N. Main St., New Lexington with Father Victor Wesolowski as celebrant.
