Passed away Friday, August 6, 2021 at her residence with her loving husband and family. She was born August 26, 1928 in New Lexington, the daughter of the late George and Emma (Beaver) Dreese. She was survived by her husband, Albert F. Smith, her children, Jerry (Sally) Smith, Judy, Pat, Ann (Jerry) McCall, Kay (Larry) Brotman, Vicki (Ken) Teter, and Toni (Matt) Tharp. 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren. Sisters & brothers, Dorothy McLain, Rev. John Dreese, Claire Miller and Richard Dreese. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Boyle, Barbara Jones, Betty Fisher, Rita Sedmak and Julia Lollo.

Rose was a graduate of St. Rose School and St. Aloysius Academy, a registered Cosmetologist with a shop on Brown St. for many years and later in her home. Family was very important to Rose; planning events, cooking, and making quilts for all her family. Loved playing bid Euchre with family and friends and for many years she hosted monthly card parties with home cooking for the crowd.

Rose worked tirelessly for St. Rose School, Festival. Fair Booth and Church by making pies and noodles. When she and her friends were finished they would play a hand of cards. She was one of the founding members of the St. Rose Sharing and Caring group which worked with the senior citizens.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held for the family at St. Rose Catholic Church, corner of Main and Water Sts., at 2:00 PM with Reverend John Dreese as Celebrant.
