Mrs. Rose Vitanza Pacino went to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022. Rose was from New Lexington, Ohio. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 12, 1919. to the late Angelo and Rose Vitanze. Her parents then moved to Sicily, Italy when she was six year old. She was baking bread and picking olives, and helping on the farm.
She met her husband Joseph Pacino Sr. in 1938 and married. They had five children. Rose was a homemaker, who was always baking bread, cookies, noodles, spaghetti, & meatballs. Rose came back to the states in 1948 with two boys. In 1949 Joe came with the other two boys. In 1949 they had a daughter. She was Catholic by faith and the oldest living catholic at St. Rose Parish in New Lexington, Ohio.
Rose leaves behind her two children, Joseph (Trish) Pacino of New Lexington, Ohio and Rose (Rodney) Alfman of New Lexington, Ohio One living sister Tina. Her fur baby Baxter will be lost without her. She also leaves behind thirty grand children, twenty five great grand children, and twenty great great grand children. Several special niece and nephews from Italy, Australia, and Cleveland, Ohio.
Besides her parents Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Pacino, Sr., and three sons Nick, Bill, and Angelo Pacino, three brother Sam, Bill, Salvatore, one sister Carmela, one granddaughter Carmela Dennis, & one grandson Vic Pacino.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 20th from 2-4 & 6-8p.m. with Rosary services at 7:00 p.m. with Father Lehigh.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 21 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church, corner of Main and Water Street with Father Lehigh as Celebrant. Rose will be buried next to her husband Joseph in New Lexington Cemetery. Chute Wiley Funeral Home is serving the family. www.chutewiley.com
