Ronald P. “Ronnie” Brown, age 72, was reunited with his son, Wyatt in Heaven at 6:35 am Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at FairHoPe Hospice, Pickering House, Lancaster.
Ron was born December 30, 1943 in Somerset, Ohio to the late Paul E. and E. Lucille (Wilson) Brown. On June 4, 1961, he married the love of his life of 55 years Linda K. (Palmer) Brown who survives in New Lexington.
Ron was a member of the first graduating class of Sheridan High School in 1961. After 34 years, he retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass, Newark in 2002. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who worked hard his entire life supporting his family. He instilled a strong work ethic in his children and grandchildren and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Ron loved tinkering in his garage and working in his yard. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, The Ohio State Buckeyes and his New Lexington Panthers. He was especially proud of all his grandchildren who always managed to bring out the kid in him.
He was blessed with a family who loved him dearly, his children, Trixie R. and Dan J. Brewer of Centerville, R. Todd and Tisha K. Brown, of New Lex, Joey E. and Vicky M. Brown of New Lex, Troy “Wyatt” Brown who preceded him in death on September 9, 1984 and Robert P. “Robbie” and Denise A. Brown of Lima; 7 grandchildren, Alan M. and (Chelsea Norberg) Hankinson, of Lima, Drew M. and (Denae Forgrave) Brown of New Lex, Taylor W. and (Makayla McGee) Brown of New Lex, McKenzy L. Brewer of Centerville, Tatum N. Brown of New Lexington, Troy D. Brewer of Centerville and Morgan R. Brown of New Lex.
Other survivors include a sister, Sherri Collard of Mt. Perry; sisters-in-law, Joy Dickson of Junction City, Jeanie and Terry Rambo of Roseville, Jerry Palmer Miller of Kenton, Shirley Mohler of Junction City and several nieces and nephews.
He is also preceded in death by his brother Larry D. Brown; sister, Judy K. Brown; in-laws, Robert C. Palmer, Mary E. (Davisson) Slater and sister-in-law, Margie Miller.
Services celebrating Ron's life will begin 2:00 PM Sunday, October 9, 2016 at New Lebanon Lutheran Church, 582 Logan St N; Junction City, Ohio 43748. Burial will follow in New Lebanon Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery. Pastor Justin VanOrman will officiate the service.
Family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 PM Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Chute - Wiley Funeral Home, 118 S. Jackson St., New Lexington, Ohio 43764 and one hour prior to the service at the church.
