Rodney passed away at the Pickering House in Lancaster after an extended illness.
He was born in Perry County, son of the
Reverend John H. and May Thomas Lanier.
He was a Korean Army Veteran and member of Junction CIty American Legion Post 376. He was a retired employee of Unted Technologies.
Rodney is survived by his loving wife, Yayoi "Nancy" Lanier, whom he married January 9, 1952. His children; Eva Kay Crompton of Westerville and Larry Lanier of Junction City, a granddaughter; Emily Crompton of Westerville and a sister; Martha Sikes of Cobbtown, Ga.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Dean Lanier.
Calling hours will be 2-4 & 6-8 pm Friday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at the funeral home with John Willbur and Scott Hanks officiating.
Burial will follow in New Lebanon Cemetery, Junction City with full military graveside rites conducted by Junction City American Legion Post 376.
