Ray was born in Athens the son of the late Thomas and Nora May Grove Goodfellow.
He was a retired employee of Rockwell of Newark, served in the Army during the Korean Conflict., member of the New Lexington American Legion Post 188, and was also a member of the New Lexington Eagles 2070 and B.P.O.E Elks 509.
Ray is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mitzi Thompson Goodfellow, daughters; Sharon Foucht, Susan (Randy) Lacey and Debra Wood all of New Lexington. Grandchildren; Nathan (Kacy) Hammer, Zachary Wolfe, Jordan Spohn, Lindsay (Jason) Coopersmith, Tyler Wolfe, Danielle (Josh) Bordner, Morgan Wood, Staaci Wood, & Nicole Wood.
6 Great Grandchildren. His brother, Danny Goodfellow, sisters; Lillian (Gene (dec.)Swick, Dorothy (Tony) Fiore, Betty (Roger) Shriner and Gladys (George) Johnson.
Besides his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his brothers, Dick, Bill, and Dave Goodfellow.
Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Eagles services at 6:00 p.m., Elk's at 6:30 and the American Legion to follow.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Reverend Richard Newlon officiating. Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery with full military graveside rites.
