Passed away peacefully on Monday, December 6, 2021. He was born September 23, 1955 in Zanesville to the late Phillip and Clara Jones Smith.

Pat had a passion for agriculture. He spent many years as a Perry County Farm Bureau Board Member, lifetime member of the New Lexington FFA Alumni, and volunteered several years as a 4-H advisor. He loved to read books, no matter the genre. He worked and tinkered on the farm and drove school bus for over 40 years of his life. Every summer you could find him working on the scales at the Perry County Fair for the tractor pulls.

Pat was a stranger to no one and was always ready to give to others. But his greatest joy came from the smiles of his Head Start kids where he worked for the last 24 years.  Pat was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church.

 

Pat is survived by his brother David (Melissa) Smith and sister, Catherine (Scott) Emmert all of New Lexington.

nephews, Justin Smith, Joseph (Chelsea) Smith, and Logan Emmert, nieces, Adrienne (Nathaniel) Lemley. Many great nieces and nephews.

 

Preceded in death by his parents.

 

Friends and family may call from 4-7 pm Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the CHUTE-WILEY FUNERAL HOME, 118 S Jackson Street, New Lexington.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 1:30 pm with Father Chris Yakkel as Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery 1170 St. Rt. 668 S Junction City.
