Margaret Ann Lewis Davis

Margaret "Margie" Ann Lewis Davis, 75, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away September 1, 2024, at Ohio State East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born May 28, 1949, to the late Linton Lewis Sr. and Margaret Hillis Lewis.

Margie graduated from New Lexington High School Class of 1967 and received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Ohio University in 1971. She retired from New Lexington City Schools after a 32 year career. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church. She loved watching the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Reds.

Margie is survived by her husband of 50 years, Joe Davis, daughters, Joie (Horace) Brown of Lubbock, Texas, Jaclyn Hutchins of Dublin, Ohio and Jennifer Davis of Zanesville, Ohio. Additional survivors include grandchildren, Landon Czarnecki, Alexis Czarnecki, David Czarnecki, Madison Hutchins, Abigail Hutchins, Jackson Hutchins, Maverick Hutchins and brothers, John (Jennifer) Lewis of New Lexington, Ohio and Linton (Anne) Lewis of Lancaster, Ohio, sister, Linda Williams of Pickerington, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter, Langdon J. Thomas, grandparents, David J. Lewis, Grace Lewis, Bessie Lewis, Frank and Laura Hillis, in-laws, Donna Moore, Pearl Moore, John Davis and brother in-law, Ed Williams.

Calling hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 5, at the Chute-Wiley Funeral Home, 118 South Jackson Street, New Lexington, Ohio, 43764. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Father Emmanuel Addai as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Lexington Athletic Department, 2547 Panther Drive, New Lexington, Ohio, 43764 or St. Rose Catholic Church, 309 North Main Street, New Lexington, Ohio, 43764.
