Leo Eugene Humphrey 74
Passed away Monday, September 5, 2016.
He was born June 1, 1942 in Zanesville. He retired from the Ludowici Tile Plant after 34 years of service.
The pride and joy of Gene's life was his farm, as he loved doing all the chores and taking care of the animals.
He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, New Lexington Elks #509 and New Lexington Eagles #2070.
He is survived by his sisters; Rita Humphrey, Mary (Bill) Hillis of New Lexington, Theresa (Craig) Wollenberg of Newark, brothers; Roger Humphrey of New Lexington and David Humphrey of Reynoldsburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Catherine Hammond Humphrey, loving companion Rose Holden, infant brother Robert J., sisters, Dorothy Lally and Helen Emmert.
Family and friends may call from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the CHUTE-WILEY FUNERAL HOME, 118 S. JACKSON ST., NEW LEXINGTON. Elk's services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Eagle's services will be held at 7:30 p.m. and Christian Wake service will be held at 8:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 Friday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, corner of Main and Water St., New Lexington with Father Paul Noble as Celebrant. Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery.
