Karen Hook

Karen Theresa (Potter) Hook, 57, of New Lexington, Ohio, passed away peacefully Friday, September 13th, 2024 at home with her family by her side after her courageous 17 long year battle with Breast Cancer.

Karen was born October 17th, 1967, to Darrell and Judith Potter.  She was the youngest of 5 daughters and graduated from New Lexington High School with the class of 1986. 

Karen married the love of her life of 35 years, Kevin Hook, on April 29th, 1989.  The two were blessed with 5 children. 

Karen was a stay at home mom for many years and devoted all of her time to her children and husband.  She was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing quilts, yard sales, cooking, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren.  She was also an active member of Saint Rose Catholic Church.

Karen was a huge advocate for Early Breast Screenings and liked to remind and encourage them to be done annually. 

Karen is survived by her husband, Kevin; her children: Kiley (Aaron) Lee, Katelyn (Joe Winnenberg) Hook, Kevin (Cassandra) Hook, and Karlie (Andrew) Harris; 9 Grandchildren: Gage Lee, Peyton Lee, Brayson Lee, Karson Hook, Kade Winnenberg, Cassidy Hook, Koen Hook, Clara Hook and Korbin Hook; 4 sisters: Kathy (Lew) McKinney, Jackie (Ray) Billingsley, Cindy (Bob) Hollingshead, and Patty (Chris) Wilson; and many nieces and nephews.  

She is preceded in death by her son Kaden Hook, her parents, Darrell and Judith Potter and Father In Law, Carl Hook Sr.

Calling hours are Tuesday, September 17th, 2024 from 2PM-4PM and 6PM-8PM at Chute-Wiley Funeral Home, 118 South Jackson St., New Lexington, Ohio 43764.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, September 18th, 2024 at 11:00AM at Saint Rose Catholic Church, 309 North Main Street, New Lexington, Ohio 43764 with Father Todd Lehigh as Celebrant.  

Burial will follow at New Lexington Cemetery, New Lexington, Ohio.

A gathering will follow after the services at Ludowici Roof Tile Factory Of Ideas building at 4757 Tile Plant Rd. New Lexington, Ohio 43764.
