Passed away Tuesday morning after a brief illiness.
He was born in Junction City and was the son of the late John William And Hazel Mae Dittoe Strohl.
John was a lfetime member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Junction City. Employee of Junction City Clay Company and retired from the Cryil Scott Company in Lancaster. Former member of the Junction City Volunteer Fire Department and member of the Knights of Columbus MacGahan Council, New Lexington.
John is survived by his children, Karen (James) Hammond of Somerset, Michael (Patsy) Strohl of Zanesville, and Amy (Rick) Hooper of New Lexington, Ohio. Daughter in law, Connie Strohl of Tennessee. Nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, M. JoAnn Strohl, his son, Douglas Strohl, brothers, Carl, Curtis, Frances, and Eugene Strohl. A sister, Leora Gleason.
Calling hours will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2011 with prayer services at 7:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 2011 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Junction City with Father Victor Wesolowski as Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
