John Kenneth "Ken” Carney

Passed away on November 11, 2020 

He was born February 13, 1937 to the late Fred and Gertie (Saunders) Carney of New Lexington. 

Ken was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School, a Veteran of the US Army and a retiree of Owens Corning Fiberglas where he worked for 37 years. Ken was a passionate outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish most of all. He always had a plentiful garden in the summertime and never missed a Buckeyes Football or Basketball game in the fall with his dog Sampson.  

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Geneva "Sharon" (McClintock) Carney, his children; Craig (Sharon) Carney of Woodbridge, VA (Joshua & Lucas); Lisa Robinson (John Hall) Somerset (Shawna, Rikki & Dallas); John Russell Carney of Somerset (Austin, Adam (dec.), Tyler & Cody); Scott Carney (dec.) (Jeni) of DesMoines, IA (Jacob & Justin); Jason (Jenni) Carney of Somerset (Bradlee, Meagan & Andrew); great grandchildren; Katy, Christina, Cameron, Charley & Norah Mae; brothers: Donald (Lois) Carney & Albert "Bud” (Eileen) Carney; sisters: Lee Ann (dec.) (Ronnie) Harris and Karen (Ken dec.) Cheney.

Family & friends may call Monday, November 16, 2020, 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm with Wake Service at 5:45 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, 1:00 pm at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 5757 OH-383, Somerset, OH with Father Michael Hartge as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites conducted by Leo Ryan Post #58 Somerset.
