JoAnn Klarenbeck Obituary

Passed away Tuesday at The Inn at Fairfield Village, Lancaster.

JoAnn was born in Corning the daughter of the late George and Edna Doloris Hillis Klarenbeck.
She was educated at St. Bernard Elementary and High School graduating in 1944. She spent her entire professional career as an executive secretary in the heating and air conditioning business including Armstrong and retiring from Magic Chef/Maytag.

While living in Grove City, JoAnn was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church where she participated in several parish ministries. Since her relocation to Lancaster, she attended mass at Saint Bernadette or St. Mary's Bremen.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her older sisters and their spouses: Catherine (William J,) Bernhard, Helen (John T.) Meikle, and Margaret (Harold) Newkirk.

She is survived by her nieces and families:
JoAnn (Dr. Edward) Nash of Lancaster, their children: Emily (Antonio) Smyth, Kate (Tyler) Henry, Mary Ellen (Tom)Grywalski, Ed Nash of Columbus and Dr. Andrew Nash of Lancaster.
Patty (Don) Caton of Juncton City, and their children: Christopher (Lisa) Caton, Scott (Alisha Back) of Junction City.
Cathy Douglass of Lancaster and her children: Ben of Daytona Beach, FL, Phillip and Paul Douglass of Panama CIty, FL.
Ann (Don) Dean of Lancaster and her children: Sarah and Carrie of Columbus. Mary Elizabeth Bernhard of Washington, DC, Georgiana (Paul) Hary of Monroe, Louisiana.
Nephews and their famlies: Tom Meikle (Bridget Harris), Bob (Theresa) Meikle and ther children: Jenny (Tony) Cooke of Canal Winchester and Robbie Meikle.
Four great-great nieces and nephew who have been the delights of her lfe: Issac and Ava Henry, Emma Caton and Sophie Cooke.

In addition to her family, she is survived by her friends ar Hoover Landing where she lived following her retirement until her health declined
in early January, the Ladies of the Christian Women's Group to which she was affiliated, and many others who have blessed her final days with their presence, their prayers and their cards.


Service Information

Mass of Christian Burial wll be held on Saturday, August 21,2010 at St. Mary's Church, 602 Marietta St., Bremen at 11:00 a.m. with Father Thomas Kessler as Celebrant. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
