Passed away at Fairfield Medcal Center after a brief illness.
Jim was born March 17, 1950 in Zanesville to the late Thomas and Wanda Cox McCord.
Retired employee of Conrail/Norfolk Southern Railroad, Ohio National Guard, New Lexington and Crooksville Eagles, Juncton City American Legion Post 376.
Survived by his wife Rita (Berry) McCord, Children, Marsha McCord of Gallipolis, James C. McCord of Blacklick, Jamie N. McCord Chevaler of New Lexington, Jeremy McCord of New Lexington.
Step children, Tonya Wallace, New Lexngton, Michelle Richmond, Pomeroy, Leo Starner, Jr., Jeffrey Starner, and Tiffany Spangler all of New Lexington.
Grand children, Alex, Emily and Dillon.
Step grandchildren, Dion, Dedra, Denzel, Avreon, Aleah, Neil Jr., Tasia, and Emily.
His brothers, Tom (YoYo) McCord, Bill (Donna) McCord, and Mike "Piv" (Donna) McCord all of New Lexington. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Velma (Gaddis) McCord.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home wth Eagles services at 6:45 p.m.
Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Roger Mills officiating. Junction City American Legion Post 376 will conduct Miltary services following the funeral.
Memorial contributons may be made to the funeral home in lieu of flowers.
