James Russell Marks 73
We celebrate his life, a lifelong resident of Perry County, he was born November 9, 1947 and passed away on September 12, 2021 he served his Country as a Marine during the Vietnam conflict and was awarded a Purple Heart, afterwards he worked at Anchor Hocking, then later started his own business as a logger, he was also a Mechanic for Perry County Cheese and after a horrible accident that left him totally blind but did not stop him, he became a Professional Massage Therapist, he did things that truly amazed us. He loved hunting, fishing and turtle gigging. He had the gift of talking and never met a stranger.
He loved his two Son’s and family.
James was the son of the late Waldo and Geneva Marks. He is survived by his two sons, Joshua Marks of Lancaster, Jeremiah (Tonia) Marks of New Lexington, stepchildren, Robbie (Penny) Stackhouse, Annette (Brad) Ladner, David (Stacy) Stackhouse, brother, Jerry and Linda Marks of Crooksville, sister, Gloria “Corky” (Dwayne) Funk of New Lexington, grandchildren, Katie and Samantha Marks, Jayla Marks, Taylor (Wyatt) Cole, Sarah, Rachael, Shane, Felicia, Leigha, Great Grandson, Jameson, several nieces & nephews and many great friends and acquaintances over the years.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy, his 1st wife, Mary Sue (Hupp) Marks, his second wife, Ruth Ann (Stackhouse) Marks, and his grandparents.
