Passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at The Pickering House, Lancaster.
She was born March 22, 1930.She was a member of the Mt. Zion United Brethren Church.
She is survived by her children, Bruce (Chris) Whitmer of Somerset; Connie S. Williams of Salt Rock, West Virginia; Ricky L. Whitmer of Somerset.
14 grand children and 22 great grandchildren. Brother, Phillip (Jessie) Abram of Corning. Sisters, Ruth (Howard) Bussey and Bonnie (Max) Grant all of New Lexington. Her sisters- in-laws, Sara Mohler and Clara Burgess.
Idella was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. "Gene" Whitmer, her mother, Hazel M. Abram; sons. Kenneth Whitmer, KIA Viet Nam 1969 and Douglas Whitmer. Daughter, Cynthia Whitmer. Brothers, William "Bill" Abram and Kenneth Abram. Son-in-law, Steve Williams.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the CHUTE-WILEY FUNERAL HOME, 118 S. Jackson St., New Lexington.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Reverend James Allison officiating. Burial will follow in Community Gardens Cemetery, New Lexington.
