Harold E. Gene Keister

Harold E (Gene) Keister 92 of New Lexington, Ohio passed from this life on Tuesday February 21, 2023, at 2:35pm at the New Lexington Care and Rehab Center surrounded by his family. Gene was born on May 23, 1930. The son of John and Mary Keister. He married Betty Dusenbery on September 19, 1951. Gene was a United States Army Veteran, and was a contractor building many homes in our area.

Gene is survived by his daughter Roxanne (Ed) Munyan, son Bob (Tami) Keister, grandchildren Christina (Anthony) Fondale, Melissa (Mike) Crothers, Andrew Keister, Adam Keister, Nicole (Kyle) Poling, Aaron (Abbie) Keister, and Ashlee Hasty. Great grandchildren Sean, Katlyn, Kacey, Caden, Payton, Wyatt, Lydia, Benjamin. 6 great great children.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 70 years, Betty 5 brothers and 6 sisters.

Calling hours will be 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturday February 25, 2023, at the Chute-Wiley Funeral Home 118 S Jackson St. New Lexington, Ohio 43764.Funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm with Father Todd Lehigh  as Celebrant. Military graveside rites with the Junction City American Legion. Gene will be laid to rest beside his wife in New Lexington, Cemetery.
