Harold R. McCord, Sr.

Passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at the Pickering House, Lancaster.

He was born June 18, 1927 in Junction City, Ohio.

Harold was a World War II Veteran, member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Board Member of Disabled Veterans Outdoors, Lifetime member of Southeastern Hunting & Fishing Club, U.S. Sportsman's Alliance, Perry County Moving Wall Committee, Past Commander of VFW Post 2806 New Lexington, New Lexington Eagles 2070. He was an avid Cleveland Browns Fan and Ohio State Buckeye Fan.

He is survived by his children, Alice (John) Vandermark, New Lexington, Randy (Stacie) McCord, Glouster, Gary (Becky) McCord, New Lexington, Kenn (Suzy) McCord, Roseville.

Grandchildren, Josh (Jessica) McCord, David (Angela) McCord, Steven McCord, Kelly (Adam) Lucas, Randi Dawn McCord, Derek (Melissa) McCord, Tracey (Jason) Wright, Gregg (Katie) Browning, Shawn (Kelli) Vandermark, Travis (Gabi) Vandermark, and Jamie Vandermark. 25 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. A sister, June Pugh, Bremen.

Harold was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Dee. Parents, Jacob and Effie Flowers McCord Schooly. His son, Harold R. "Butch" McCord, Jr. (KIA Vietnam). Great grandson, Mason Vandermark, sisters, Minnie, Mae, Goldie, & Emma. Brothers, Jim, Tom, and Bob (MIA Korean Conflict).

Family and friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 pm Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the CHUTE-WILEY FUNERAL HOME, 118 S Jackson St., New Lexington where Christian wake services will be held at 6:30 pm and VFW services will be held at 7:30 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11:00 am at St. Rose Catholic Church, corner of Main & Water Sts., New Lexington with Father James Csaszar as Celebrant. Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery.
