Gaynor Finck Obituary

Gaynor (Gay) June (Emson) Finck, 89, of Junction City, Ohio passed away Friday, December 31, 2021 at the Pickering House in Lancaster.

 Devoted to her Catholic faith, she was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Junction City.

 Born February 6, 1932 and raised in England during World War II, she married her G.I. sweetheart. They were stationed at various Air Force bases in England and the United States.

 Upon retiring from the military, they moved to Ohio where she joined the British Wives’ Club. Gay enjoyed fellowship with the many friends she met there.

 Gay is survived by her husband, David J. Finck; her brother, Paul (Carole) Emson and sister, Anne Emson, all of Warrington, England; her children Vicki (Ron) Barker of Lancaster, Paul (Diane) Finck of Twyford, England, Pete (Sherie) Finck of Columbus, Cathy (Tim) Shumaker of Lancaster, John Finck of Junction City and Michael (Leslie) Finck of Junction City, as well as 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She is also survived by many special nieces, nephews, family and friends.

 Gay is preceded in death by her parents, James Albert Emson and Ruby Ellen (Arbour) Emson; her twin brother, Terry Emson; her sister-in-law, Margaret Emson; her daughter-in-law, Lisa Finck and many other special brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, family and friends.

 She spent her life devoted to her faith, family and friends. We miss her already.

 Calling hours will be held from 4pm-8pm on Monday, January 3, 2022 at St. Patrick Church, 1170 OH-668, Junction City. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. Patrick Church with Fr. Christopher Yakkel as Celebrant. There are calling hours before the mass from 10am-11am.

 Due to the ongoing pandemic, the family requests the use of masks and social distancing guidelines.

 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gay’s memory to St. Patrick Church in Junction City, Ohio(address above) or Fair HoPe Hospice, 282 Sells Rd, Lancaster, Ohio.
