Fr. John Louis Metzger, 86
Passed away January 11, 2015. He was born May 6, 1928 in Zanesville. He was the son of the late J. Albert and Alice Boley Metzger.
He was a graduate of St. Charles Preparatory School, Bexley. Prior to entering the priesthood, he worked as senior auditor with the Ohio Farm Bureau and Landmark in southwest Ohio. Fr. Metzger was ordained May 27,1967 and served as a Priest in the Dioceses of Columbus.
He is survived by his sister and brother, Sr. Alice, OSF and Brice A Metzger and nephews Mark (Anne), Luke (Amy) and Karl Metzger; including four grand-nephews and nieces, (Ally, Korey, Clare and Aidan).
Calling hours will be held Thursday, January 15 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1170 St. Rt 668 S., Junction City with Vigil services at 6:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, CHUTE-WILEY FUNERAL HOME, 118 S Jackson St., New Lexington is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society.
