Passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2009.
He was born March 24, 1930 in Corning, son of the late Howard and Clara Nichols Hern.
He was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Korean War. Retired from Conrail after 42 years of service. Member of Corning American Legion Post 327 and Eagles #463, the VFW of Malta and the Moose Lodge of Logan.
He is survived by his children;
Shelley and Tom Hettich of Logan,
Sammy and Rita Hern of Corning,
Barbara and Paul Doughty of Glouster,
Donald and Susan Hern of Corning,
and Danita and Cameron Post of Glouster.
11 Grandchildren.
20 Great Grandchildren.
His brother; James Hern of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his wife Edna Claireann Hern (1996), his parents, a brother Donald Hern and a sister; Phyllis Jean Choate.
At his request no calling hours will be observed.
Private family services will be held.
