Darrell Gene Harvey

Darrell Gene Harvey, 69, of New Lexington OH, formerly of Lancaster OH, took his heavenly journey December 25, 2022, at 9:30 pm at Genesis Medical Center, Zanesville OH.

Born December 1, 1953, in West Virginia to the late Andrew David and Laura Jane Gilbert Harvey.

Darrell worked and retired after 44 years a at Anchor Hocking Glass Company.  He chose to spend his retirement doing the things he liked. He spent his time front porch swinging and watching traffic go by through the back of his eyelids, watching Price is Right daily and never-ending episodes of Walker Texas Ranger. He loved going to the Casino to play cards and Craps and spent a lot of time attempting to teach his grandchildren those skills.

He is survived by his seven children, Kimberly (Lacy)Boggess, Jennifer (Bill) Skidmore, Jason Harvey, Barry (Arlene) Harvey, Christina (Levi) Wetzel, Steven (Ashleigh)Harvey, Michelle Harvey. His grandchildren, Allison, Hannah, Lacie Shay, William, Benjamin, Madison Mae, Ellee, Annie, Alex and Matthew. His brothers David Harvey, Dennis Harvey, Douglas (Helen) Harvey, John (Dovie) Harvey and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in Death by his parents, Andrew David and Laura Jane Gilbert Harvey, and the mothers of his children, Sharon Anna Potter Alfman and Marilyn Kay Milligan Harvey.

A celebration of Life will be held at Chute-Wiley Funeral Home in New Lexington OH on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. He will be cremated, and a private memorial will be held at a later time.
