Anthony J. "Tony" Fiore 90
Passed away Sunday morning, July 15, 2018 at Lanfair Health Care Center after a brief illness. He was born February 18, 1928 in New Lexington. He was the son of the late Frank and Rosa Delsaro Fiore.
Tony was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Owned & operated Fiore's Restaurant & Bowling Alley and River Lanes in McConnellsville until his retirement. He was an avid bowler and made many trips to The Peterson Classic, winning it in 1969. Squad sponsor for many years at the Hoinke Classic in Cincinnati and St. Clairsville Team and the K of C Tournaments. Member of American Legion Post 188 of New Lexington having served in the National Guard. Member of the Knights of Columbus MacGahan Council Life Member of 72 years. To all that knew Tony, they affectionately referred to him as "Uncle Tony".
He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Raymond and Susan Fiore of Lancaster, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Dorothy Goodfellow Fiore, brothers, Joe, Pete, Sam, Johnny and Bill. Sisters, Rose, Mary and Louise.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 20, 2018 from 2:00~8:00 PM with American Legion Services at 5:00 PM. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Rose Catholic Church, corner of Main & Water Sts., New Lexington. Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites. www.chutewiley.com
