Ambrose J. "Bud" Kunkler was born August 6, 1933 in Junction CIty, the oldest son of the late Ambrose and Marie Gordon Kunkler.
He served his country in the United States Army in Korea. He retired from St. Aloysius/Mt. Aloysius after 35 years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Somerset.
Ambrose is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Cora Keister Kunkler, 9 children, Greg (Debbie) Kunkler, Bernadette (Steve) Shumaker, Ed (Kalya) Kunkler, Trish (Tom) Swinehart, Marilyn (Tom) Metzger, Art (Juli) Kunkler, Colleen Kunkler, Danny Kunkler, and Denise (Ken) Kennedy. 28 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. 4 brothers, William, Harold, Gordon, and Lew Kunkler. A sister, Imelda Smeltzer and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Alfred Kunkler, infant brother Bernard and a sister, Mary Ann Eberly.
Calling hours will be held from 2:00~4:00 PM and 6:00~8:00 PM, Monday, April 30, 2018 at the Chute-Wiley Funeral Home, 118 S Jackson St., New Lexington. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 PM.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1170 St. Rt. 668 S., Junction City with Father Stephen Carmody as Celebrant.
