NICHOLAS MARIO FIORE

Nicholas Mario “Nick” Fiore, 71 of New Lexington passed away within 24 hrs of being diagnosed with cancer on November 29,2023 at Genesis Hospital surrounded by his family. Nick was born May 17, 1952, to the late William “Bill” and Dolores “Dottie” (Tharp) Fiore. Nick attended Saint Aloysius Academy until it closed in 1969, then graduated from Tri County Vocational School. He was an Ohio National Guard Veteran and a member of the Knights of Columbus MacGahan Chapter. In his early adult life Nick was a boiler operator for the Junction City Penitentiary and worked for Ready Mix Concrete then spent the rest of his life working in partnership with Fiore Brothers Masonry and Fiore and Sons Poured Walls. He loved creating beautiful fireplaces, Grottos, slate etchings and giving away his “Invisible Rocks.” Nick was a faithful member of Saint Rose Catholic Church. He had a great passion for music and will be a long remembered for sharing his musical talents throughout the years with various musicians including the St. Rose Guitar Group. He enjoyed volunteering music lessons at St. Rose school, spending time with others making CD’s to share with friends and family and performing at area nursing homes bringing joy to the residents.

Nick is survived by his children, Nicole (Doug) Fox, Mario (Jenny) Fiore, Billy (Tina) Fiore, Joey (Liz) Fiore, and Tonina (Matt) Fiore, the mother of his children Pamela Fiore; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, his siblings, Joseph (Sharon) Fiore, John (Dix) Fiore, James Fiore, Maria (Ron) Isham, Teresa (John) Boyle; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a niece, Dawn Fiore.

Calling hours will be held at the Chute-Wiley Funeral Home 118 S. Jackson St. New Lexington, Ohio on Sunday December 3, 2023 from 1 pm to 6 pm with the Holy Rosary recited at 6 pm.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday December 4, 2023 at 11 am at St. Rose Catholic Church 304 N. Main St. New Lexington, Ohio with Father Todd Lehigh as Celebrant.  Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery, New Lexington, Ohio. Military graves side services will be conducted by New Lexington American Legion Post #188. Nick was a very caring and generous person…Please honor him by donating or sharing your time to a charitable organization or individual in need. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the funeral home for funeral expenses.
