Christina (Chrissy) M. Altier of Columbus, Ohio formerly of Corning, Ohio was called home to our heavenly father on October 8, 2023.
She was the daughter of the late John F and Mary G Flautt Altier. She was a graduate of St. Aloysius in New Lexington, Ohio. Christina's big personality was not made for small-town living and she had aspirations of making it in the big city. She spread her wings and started her career in floral arrangements before she began her employment with the Ohio Department of Liquor Control where she continued until retirement. Christina was a leader in the movement for equality. Her friend, the late Corbett Reynolds, along with Christina opened the nightclub Rudely Elegant. They were instrumental in starting the LBGTQ movement and made it a part of the fabric of Columbus. She was also a part of Big Brother Big Sisters for many years. She also loved to online shop, play bingo, crafting, thrift store shopping, and the beach.
She was extremely close to and loved to spend time with her sisters, many nieces and nephews, and friends.
She is survived by her sister Pamela Compston of New Lexington and brother William (Suzie) Altier of Fort Myers, Florida. Sister-in-laws Ann Altier, Wanda Altier, Sally Rambo, Susan Altier, and Joaquin Altier. God-daughters Anna Grace Blackburn and Lily Blackburn.
